The Shearing
The people of Ulat revolted. The government answered that some Ulat were using their antennae to deceive: to lie about the state and to read it for its enemies. Enemies of the state, it ruled, would be sheared of their antennae, so they could read no one.
Those who resisted the shearing were killed. Most of the people of Ulat died.
The government did not survive what it began. The record does not say who ended it.
