Every Moon keeps one face toward Jol and one face away. The dark face is called the Boog. It is a place of legend, and of fear.

No Orum appear in the Boog. Without them a Cogum cannot find water, cannot tell predator from prey, cannot tell what is safe to eat from what will kill it. The Orum tell them all of these things. In the Boog nothing does.

Cogum do not go into the Boog. The few who have are not known to have returned.
